Mining Camp Outside of Melbourne
When I got to Australia Bruce and Tia took me out to do some touristy things.
This gold mining camp was re-constructed, and is now a sort of living-history
situation, where people live there, wear the costumes, run the stores, etc.
It's called Sovereign Hill, and is in Ballarat, Victoria. It's pretty cool. Of course, it's a
bit odd coming from California, where huge gold rushes and gold camps occurred
to see nearly exactly the same thing (except for the names of the places and
such) there (it makes sense, just seems odd). That's Bruce Probst up on the
bridge up there.
